5-9 ONLINE PRESENCE
Whatever you’re building in your 5-9, chances are you need to compete for attention and connection. We’re all trying to build a meaningful online presence without burning out.
So as a creator but more importantly a consumer, here’s what I see as in and out for social media in 2025:
INS
Documenting your journey, not just sharing information
Leveraging underrated channels such as Threads - sometimes you have to focus on the place with the most favourable supply:demand ratio
Tying your life philosophy into whatever you do e.g. a Christian cooking channel - this is a great way to draw in your authentic tribe who share your vision and values
OUTS
Not having an owned channel. Having a newsletter and/or private community is a non-negotiable now - we cannot be at the mercy of these algorithms!
Videos full of 100% education and nothing else (this is going to be my biggest challenge as I’ve ridden that wave for all its worth)
Tiktok perhaps…let’s see what happens on the 19th!

5-9 FINANCES
Chasing income autonomy vs financial freedom
I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m currently in the process of earning my financial advisor qualification (woo 🥳). As I’ve been digging into my studies, something keeps standing out: there’s a milestone on the path to financial independence that no one seems to talk about. It’s a stage that can give you a huge sense of relief before reaching the whole "financial freedom" dream. I’ve decided to coin this milestone - “income autonomy.”
What is income autonomy?
Income autonomy is about having the ability to generate and control your income without being at the mercy of external sources such as a single paycheck or employer, government support or family help. It’s about self-sufficiency, having options, and feeling in charge of your money.
Imagine waking up knowing you’ve got multiple skills and avenues to make money, and you’re not financially finished if you lose your job. That’s income autonomy.
How is income autonomy different from financial freedom?
So the thing is financial freedom gets all the attention. You know, having enough money or passive income to cover all your expenses for life? Amazing goal for sure - but also seems quite overwhelming right?
Income autonomy is different. It’s a stepping stone to financial freedom, and it’s way more doable. You don’t need millions in the bank or a full-on early retirement plan. Instead, it’s about:
Diversifying your income - like starting a side hustle, freelancing, or even dipping into investments.
Covering your expenses comfortably without feeling like you’re constantly on edge.
Having more control over your time - the freedom to leave a job, take a break, or try something new without spiralling into financial panic.
Why focus on income autonomy first?
Financial freedom is a worthy goal, but it can feel out of reach for many people. Income autonomy however gives you a financial cushion to make life less stressful and frees up up disposable income that you can reinvest into your journey toward financial freedom.
Honestly, this milestone is like taking the pressure off while still moving toward the big picture.

5-9 PRODUCTIVITY
ChatGPT prompts to bullet-proof your 5-9 strategy
You’ve probably got a loose idea of the side hustles, projects and ideas you’d like to pursue as part of your income autonomy journey. Here’s some prompts to allow ChatGPT to be your buddy-in-thinking and reveal any holes in your strategy:
“Challenge this strategy. What blind spots am I missing?”
What assumptions am I making about this strategy, and how could they be wrong?
What unintended consequences could arise from this strategy?
Are there any potential downsides that I might be overlooking because of bias or enthusiasm?
“What would the boldest version of this strategy look like?”
That’s a wrap! See you Wednesday after the next.
— Peace ✌🏾
