Post-summer reset season
The Peaceful Upgrade #04
I’m a big believer in batching my work vs play seasons. In the past, September - December has been my most pivotal season of growth for two reasons:
1) summer enjoyment has settled and I can now focus again
2) I go into the next year with a headstart on momentum.
The depths of the power of momentum is something I’ve struggled to articulate but I’m working on it because it has truly changed my life. Momentum is when something is moving and increasing at a pace when only something of a larger force can stop it. That’s why I focus on getting momentum in a goal first and foremost - when you get to this point, you see increase without even trying.
Imagine starting 2024 getting increase without even trying?
‘Aha’ moments of the week:
Every week I drop 2 or 3 things I’ve learned and an action that can be applied to it so that you can commit to implement at least one this coming week. I’m a massive fan of action and accountability and aim for this newsletter to be that for you.
1.) What is your vision for the rest of the year? 9 months into the year, you’ve experienced a lot, learned a lot, felt a lot. Are your priorities really still the same as before? You are allowed to pivot. I always console myself with the fact that 9 times out of 10 - everything is reversible. If you’re not feeling what you’re working on, you can give yourself the room to try something different for a while, see how it feels and go back to your original plan if you want.
ACTION: Braindump what your vision is for the rest of the year. Not just what you want to have, but also how you want to feel.
2.) My favourite method for getting momentum is some kind of challenge or focus period. My personal go-to is the 12 week year and I’m currently in week 4 of one now. The first time I did this challenge is when I started my e-commerce business in 3 weeks and for less than £500 (watch this video for how I did this).
ACTION: Watch this video, follow the steps and start your 12-week year.
Resource spotlight
Each week, I’ll handpick a valuable gem(s) - a book, video, tool, or any other valuable resource - that I think is not commonly known (I’m also the queen of finding unearthed gems) but will truly educate, inspire or help you in your journey in some way.
