Turning your 2023 resolutions into results
creating a gameplan
Happy holidays! Hope it’s been merry and full of good food :)
One thing I’ve learnt over recent years is that successful goal-setting comes down to 2 things: 1) setting goals that are actually meant for you (this is where self-reflection and spirituality comes in) 2) identifying the person we need to become and the actions that person will take to bring those goals to reality.
Some stats to note about setting goals in the New Year:
23% of people quit by the end of the first week, and 64% after the first month
Only 9% of people report being successful in achieving their goal/s by the end of the year
35% of people attribute losing motivation as the top reason for giving up
So how does one stay motivated?
By making a plan of action. One that includes milestones, actions and a contingency plan.
It’s a eureka moment I had a while ago. When you have a roadmap to hold yourself accountable to, rather than the end destination, it’s so much easier to stay focussed on what matters - am I doing my part?
Identifying the habits, actions and character traits needed to make my goals more than a pipe dream on paper is when I saw the most drastic changes in my results. I also started to approach it as a working document, continually being fine-tuned throughout the year. We are multi-faceted people learning new thing every millisecond - we are allowed to change our desires and priorities!
Goal-setting should be fun and I want it to be that way for you this year. I truly believe practicing these steps will allow you to benefit from intentional life design and make 2023 your best year yet ❤️
Stay blessed,
Peace x
